- If you are asking for resume or portfolio critique, be sure to share all relevant materials in advance.
- Think through your goals for the call and mention those in your email request.
- Prepare thoughtful questions that align with their experience and be prepared lead the conversation.
Sample Questions and Topics
- Discuss your relevant experience and any interest you have in virtual internships and ask for advice on ways to expand your network to secure those opportunities.
- Talk through some of your favorite classes and ask for advice on how to identify what career paths may be more fitting based on your interests.
- Bring up any questions you have about the different public relations roles and career paths.
- How has COVID shifted how your organization and industry are operating?
- What are ways as a young professional I can make myself more valuable in the job market?
- Did you face any challenging points during your career path that taught you resiliency that I could relate to during COVID?
