Mike Warren’s career has centered in the corporate world whether it was a lawyer at Bradley Arrant Rose & White or as CEO of Energen Corporation. It all changed in January 2008 when he took over as president and CEO of Children’s Health System. Warren made the move from the world of a major corporate utility to one of the country’s top-ten not-for-profit pediatric healthcare systems. The industries couldn’t be any different, but as Warren says he didn’t know anything about utilities and gas exploration either when he joined Alagasco/Energen.
Warren will share experiences from his years at Energen and the lessons learned in his first 10 months on the job at Children’s. Warren’s personal stories and insights will provide a glimpse at his idea of the management and communication skills that are transferable to any industry.
* Parking will be in the Children’s 5th Avenue Deck (This is the employee parking deck and not the main patient deck). Entrance to the deck is on 16th Street South between 4th and 5th Avenues South. PRSA members will need to press the call button and tell the attendant they are there for the PRSA meeting and then proceed to parking on level five or higher. Take the elevator or stairs to the street level and go up 16th Street to the Children’s Harbor Building at the corner of 6th and 16th.
