Job #512 – Assistant Manager, Public Relations
Assure a positive global image with all external and internal audiences through all communications and public affairs activities relating to KMMG and its operations in Georgia. This includes public relations, media relations, government affairs, community relations, and internal communications.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES (including but not limited to accountabilities below):
• Execute long-term strategies to further KMMGs position as an exemplary corporate citizen
• Assist in the development and execution of the strategy for corporate citizenship (philanthropy, community outreach, corporate participation, environmental responsiveness, team member participation)
• Maintain relations with community groups and key individuals, especially in Troup, Harris, and Chambers counties, as well as, GA statewide
• Maintain relations and assist in developing programs for government entities and officials, including local governments, Georgia legislature, the Governor and key constitutional officers.
• Execute internal and team member communications and initiatives
• Assist in the development and implementation of programs and events for external audiences
• Make presentations and give speeches on behalf of KMMG in the absence of Public Affairs Manager or Senior Manager
• Write press releases and handle media inquiries when required. Serve as corporate spokesperson in the absence of Manager or Senior Manager of Publics Affairs.
• Maintain good communication and integration with other Kia corporate entities
QUALIFICATIONS and JOB REQUIREMENTS (Education, Experience, Competencies):
• Bachelor’s degree in communication or related field, along with five (5) to eight (8) years of public relations or related experience preferably within the automotive environment, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Experience in a supervisory role
• Ability to perform multiple tasks and handle stress
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Extensive media relations experience
SPECIALIZED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED
• Experience working with word processor, spreadsheet, database, and presentation applications and/or software.
