The NEW Art of Networking

April 14 at 11:45 a.m.
Alabama Power Metro Auditorium
1313 6th Avenue North
Birmingham, AL

Guest speaker: Peter Shankman

As PR practitioners, we must all keep our skills sharp to stay competitive in a world of media that changes on a daily basis. From good pitching skills to creative stunts and events, we are constantly looking for ways to bring attention to (or away from) our brands.

However, at the core of our PR toolbox is our ability to network. Networking is what makes us able to make things happen quickly. Knowing the right people and how to work with them in a mutually beneficial way is how we achieve results. The definition of the profession has not changed, but the way in which we do it has. And it continues to evolve before our eyes.

/PR Week Magazine/ has described Peter Shankman as "redefining the art of networking." An author and prolific online communicator, Shankman has invented many of the tools professional communicators use and now depend on to "establish and maintain those mutually beneficial relationships" between their organizations and their publics.

Most recently Shankman is known for the launch or HARO (Help A Reporter Out), which has grown to more than 52,000 users in a year. He was also the founder of AirTroductions (now TripLife) which connects business travelers on the go. He is also the author of /Can We Do That?! Outrageous PR Stunts That Work and Why Your Company Needs Them/.

Please join us April 14 at 11:45 for our monthly chapter meeting and learn from guest speaker Peter Shankman how you can start putting some of the latest and greatest networking tools to work for you today!
